Between Stars is a mobile game with one optional in-app purchase. It is designed to minimize data use. This policy covers the Between Stars iOS app, the public Between Stars web pages, and personal data you send directly to us for support or privacy requests.
Fixed Point Solutions SRL is the developer and data controller for the personal data described in this policy, except where Apple acts independently under its own terms. You can contact us at contact@fixedpoint.software.
Between Stars has no accounts, registration, chat, advertising, behavioral analytics, or custom telemetry. Unity engine diagnostics is disabled in the released build. The app does not request your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or advertising identifier. It does not track you and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.
The app stores game progress, best thrust times and scores, unlocked content, tutorial state, the most recently selected pack, saved flight paths, and your choices for music, interface and gameplay sounds, hints, gravity-field display, and reduced motion. The app follows your device language and does not save a separate language preference. This information remains on your device; the game's code does not transmit it to us. Your operating system and backup settings determine whether local app data is included in a device backup.
The public Between Stars pages are static and use no cookies, analytics, forms, or third-party scripts. When your browser requests a page, DreamHost, our website-hosting provider, processes standard HTTP request information such as your IP address, date and time, requested page, response status, browser or user-agent details, and related technical data. This is necessary to deliver the pages, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and protect the site. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website. DreamHost states that its default HTTP-log retention period is seven days. We do not use these logs for advertising, analytics, or profiling. See DreamHost's Privacy Policy.
The optional purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. Between Stars uses StoreKit through Unity In-App Purchasing 5.3.1 to request product information and receive the purchase status or receipt needed to unlock and restore content. The app does not send that information to a Fixed Point Solutions server, and we do not receive or store your payment-card details. Unity's version-specific documentation states that Unity IAP 5.3.1 does not collect personal data. If you email us, we receive your email address, any name attached to your email account, your message and attachments, and any device or purchase details you choose to include. We use this information only to answer you, investigate the issue, fulfill a privacy request, prevent abuse, or meet a legal obligation. Our legal bases are our legitimate interest in providing support and protecting our service; steps necessary to address a purchase-related request; and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations.
Only authorized Fixed Point Solutions personnel and Google, which operates our business email service, may process this correspondence for us. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or share it with unrelated parties. We may disclose information if required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Local game data remains on your device until you reset the app, clear its data, or uninstall it, subject to your device backups. Support correspondence is normally deleted within 24 months after the last communication. We may keep it longer only when required by law or reasonably necessary for a legal claim. Apple retains App Store transaction records under its own policy; we do not hold a separate server-side copy. DreamHost's standard HTTP-log retention is described above. You may request deletion of correspondence we hold by emailing us.
On-device data is protected by your device's security controls. We restrict access to support correspondence and use an access-controlled Google business email service with transport encryption where supported. Apple secures payment processing through the App Store. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free.
Google may process support correspondence outside the European Economic Area. Where required, its Cloud Data Processing Addendum provides recognized transfer mechanisms, including Standard Contractual Clauses. DreamHost hosts the web pages in the United States and its Customer Data Processing Addendum also incorporates Standard Contractual Clauses. You may contact us for more information about applicable safeguards.
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling. Email us to exercise a right; we may ask for enough information to verify the request and locate the relevant correspondence. Because gameplay data remains on your device, we cannot access or delete it remotely.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority or with Romania's National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).
Between Stars is suitable for all ages and does not provide accounts, chat, advertising, or behavioral analytics. We do not knowingly solicit personal data from children. Optional purchases remain subject to Apple's family and parental-control features. A parent or guardian may contact us to ask a privacy question or request deletion of correspondence sent by a child.
If the app, its SDKs, or our data practices change, we will update this policy before the corresponding app version is released and change the effective date above.
